There is something extra special about finding peace while moving through winter landscapes. Countless winter hiking trails lead to scenic places.

Useful information for winter hikers

All of Vorarlberg’s regions are composed of a well-conceived and extensive network of uniformly signposted winter hiking trails. In many places, guided hikes are also offered.

Suggestions and tips can be found here. An interactive map that details the approx. 180 winter-hiking trails shows the location of both easy strolls through nature and more challenging tours. The maps provide route information regarding the length, approx. walking time and elevation gain, as well as info on attractions, mountain restaurants and refreshments en route. Trail photos are also featured.

      Description

      Take the Stafelalpbahn up to the middle station. From there you hike along the ski slope to the Franz-Josef hut. Return via the same path and again with the Stafelalpbahn or along the ski slope via Alpe Stafel back to Faschina.

      Description

      This winter hike starts at the parking area at Faschinajoch. From there past the Lari Fari restaurant and along the prepared winter trail slightly downhill towards Tiefenwald. At Tiefenwald, hike to the end of the prepared winter hiking trail and take the same path back to the starting point.

      The Riedboden circular trail is an easy, short circular trail on a groomed winter hiking trail in the Sonnenkopf ski area. The starting and finishing point is the mountain station of the Sonnenkopf cable car. From the mountain station follow the pink winter hiking trail sign Riedboden-Rundweg.
